再看一個例子：
Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective?
一個同學的作文，是這樣的：
It is fair to say that increasing the price of petrol could reduce the frequency of vehicles use, to some degree, to avoid traffic congestion. Nevertheless, it seems to change a little. For one thing, even though the use frequency decreases, the incomplete traffic system still exists, such as imperfect traffic rules, misbehaviors from individuals and improper arrangements of traffic signals or overpasses. …
這段論述有什麼問題？
這段論述中，為論述提高燃油價格的局限性，提出了交通和污染問題的其它原因，如交通系統的不完善。但the incomplete traffic system still exists, … 在邏輯上，意味著traffic system 一直不完善。而這，並不是確鑿的事實。在表達上，是一種overgeneralization。
