2月24日晚，華為在西班牙巴塞隆納MWC2019世界移動大會中正式發布了旗下首款5G折疊屏手機華為Mate X。

該款手機定價2299歐元（約合人民幣17498元）。華為宣布，這款手機將在2019年年中上市。

Huawei has launched its foray into foldable smartphones, with the Huawei Mate X officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2019 as a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and a device that could focus on productivity.

不久前，三星在2月20日發布了自己的首款5G折疊手機Galaxy Fold，計劃在4月26日上市，售價1980美元（約合人民幣13300元）。

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold announcement isn’t even a week old yet, and we already have a competitor that is thinner, has a bigger screen, and folds flatter.

1鷹翼式折疊：180度自由翻折

據介紹，華為折疊屏獨創轉軸設計，採用鷹翼式外折方案，可做到0-180度自由翻折；機身單邊厚度為5.4mm，打開之後攤平6.9毫米，並且折疊後11毫米。

Unlike the Samsung folding phone, the Galaxy Fold, which opens inwards, like a book, the Huawei phone opens outwards. Given this different functionality, Huawei has managed to make this device incredibly thin.

When open, the Huawei Mate X is 5.4mm thick, and when closed its only 11mm when closed. Huawei compares this to the 「other folding phone」 which is 6.9mm when open.

餘承東說，研發團隊花了三年時間，投入大量精力，研發鉸鏈，做到真正意義上的背對背折疊，中間沒有縫隙。

華為Mate X搭載華為最強的5G多模終端晶片——7nm巴龍5000和麒麟980晶片，理論峰值達到4.6Gbps，大大領先於業界水平。最快可做到3秒下載一部1G的視頻。

The phone will run on Huawei’s Kirin 980 processor and Balong 5000 chipset, which supports 5G. The company said the super-fast chipset will allow users to download a 1 gigabyte movie in just 3 seconds.

餘承東說，這是世界上最快的5G手機，相關技術均由華為自研。

The Mate X is Huawei’s first 5G-enabled smartphone. Huawei said it has an advantage over other companies launching 5G devices because it provides the full-range of equipment needed to get wireless networks up and running.

3雙屏多任務交互

The lopsidedness of Huawei’s folded displays are due to a vertical camera bar that runs along the back of the phone.

這款華為手機的折疊屏兩面並不一樣大，原因是手機背面垂直分布的一列錄影頭。

This houses three cameras—a 40 MP main camera, a 16 MP wide angle lens, and an 8 MP telephoto—and an LED flash, and a power button.

折疊屏的市場有多大？

近年來，折疊屏突然火爆，儼然已成為各大手機品牌必爭之地，但不少分析人士對於這一黑科技仍然持觀望態度。

CNN引述佛瑞斯特研究公司的分析師Thomas Husson的評論稱：

“No matter how innovative and technology advanced the new device is, it will take a lot more time for acritical massof consumers to experience the benefits of foldable phones and 5G technology.”

無論這款新手機有多創新，技術有多先進，要讓一定數量級的用戶體驗到折疊手機和5G科技，仍然需要相當長的時間。

但也有人看好這種平板手機二合一的設備。CNN記者Samuel Burke說，看看有多少人在用手機看電影，就知道折疊機的市場會有多大：

“You might dismiss foldable phones like the new Huawei Mate X as just a gimmick. But all you have to do is look at all the people on airplanes who choose to watch movies holding up their phones to realize there’s pent-up demand for tablet-size viewing on a phone.”
