Yesterday (October 23rd) Tencent revealed a wide array of WeChat statistical data and analysis previously unknown to the public. Check out the full English version of the report below. Highlights include:

• For the first time ever Tencent revealed the number of daily WeChat users

• The differences in WeChat usage rates across Chinese cities from Tier 1 to Tier 5

• The average user now reads 7 articles on WeChat a day; the equivalent of 1 novel a month!

• Male shoppers spend 1.3x more than female shoppers on WeChat (who would have though?)

• 15% of users play WeChat games daily

• 60% of WeChat users are aged between 15 and 29

• Young users have on average 128 friends on their WeChat

• Peak shopping times on WeChat are 10am and 10pm

• Selfie Sticks are one of the top items bought by young people on WeChat!
