Josh and Kip are on the shore.

They watch the tide come in.

They’re stranded on an island.

Josh is sad and he is thin.

There’s something lying in the sand.

Josh calls out to his pup.

「Is that a big fat fish,Kip?」

「Be quick then,dig it up!」

「快點兒，把它挖出來！」

They hope it will be good at eat.

他們希望這條魚會很好吃。

Kip gives his tail a wag.

基普搖擺著它的尾巴。

Mo such luck.

真的太幸運了！

It is a ring.

是一枚戒指！

Let’s rub it with this bag.

讓我們用這個袋子把它擦一下。

Josh sighs,「It’s very pretty…」

喬西嘆了口氣，「它真的非常漂亮！」

But I wish I had a fish.

但是我希望我有一條魚。

A flash of light , a cloud of stars-

一道閃電，一團星星之後，

A big fish on a dish.

盤子裡出現了一條大魚。

…

「Hooray,this ring is magic! 」

「萬歲，這個戒指太神奇了！」

Josh cheers and grins at Kip.

喬西向著基普歡呼，然後咧嘴一笑。

Chin up, Kip.

振作起來，基普。

I am in luck.

我太幸運了。

I wish I had a ship.

我希望我可以有一艘船。

…

Now Josh and Kip are sailing home.

現在喬西和基普正航行著回家。

But soon the wind grows shrill.

但是很快大風就變得很凌冽！

「I wish I had a coat,」says Josh

「我希望我可以有一件大衣。」喬西說。

I will get a chill.

我會凍著涼的。

…

Then comes the most enormous crash.

然後發生了最緊急的情況。

It gives them such a shock.

這讓他們非常吃驚。

They slip and slide along the deck.

他們在甲板上滑來滑去。

The ship has hit a rock.

船觸礁了。

…

The magic ring goes flying,

魔法戒指飛走了。

And Josh falls in the sea.

而且喬西也掉進了海裡。

「NO！」

「不！」

「Hop in quick ,Kip.Get it back for me!」

「快，基普。把它給我找回來。」

…

The ring is lost .

戒指丟了！

The ship has sunk.

船也沉沒了。

How gloomy can things get?

事情會變得多麼令人沮喪啊？

Then just in time , they hear a cry:

就在這時，他們聽到了一陣呼喊：

Hang on to this net.

抓住這張網！

…

Now Josh and Kip are safe on board.

現在喬西和基普都坐在船上。

And here’s a funny thing-

然後一些有趣事兒發生了-

A fish is in the net as well…

一條魚也在網裡面。

And in the fish-the ring!

然後戒指也在魚肚子裡！
