百老匯原版《芝加哥》登陸廣州大劇院！
作為百老匯最性感的音樂劇，《芝加哥》在1996年復排後便攬獲包括東尼獎、最佳復排音樂劇、格萊美最佳音樂劇專輯等多項國際大獎。至今已連續上演22年，是百老匯上演時間最長的美國音樂劇。2018年《芝加哥》在中國進行首次巡演，並於12月6日至16日在廣州大劇院重磅上演！
Revived on Broadway in 1996, Chicago has been honored with 6 Tony Awards (including the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical), aGrammy and thousands of standing ovations. Chicago has been staged in numerous productions around the world for 22consecutive years, holding the record for the longest-running musical revival and the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Now, the classic-hit musical Chicago is being performed at the Guangzhou Opera House from December 6th through to the 16th.
改編自20年代轟動一時的真實案件，《芝加哥》講述了兩位女舞蹈演員洛克茜·哈特（Roxie Hart）和維爾瑪·凱利（Velma Kelly）分別入獄後，在巧合如簧的律師比利·弗林（Billy Flynn）的編排下，逃脫刑罰並成為獄中名人的荒誕故事。
The musical is adapted from a playbased on the real-life murder trials of two women that caught the public eye inChicago in the 1920s, a time when crimes of passion resulted in celebrity headlines. Set in jazz-age Chicago, the story centers on Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, who murder their lovers butget away scot-free with the help of suave layerBilly Flynn.
首演當日下午，《芝加哥》於廣州大劇院舉辦媒體發布會，駐團導演菲利普·戈達華，兩位女演員卡門·比勒陀利烏斯和薩曼莎·佩歐，以及男主演喬納森·洛斯莫夫與廣州媒體見面，並接受媒體訪問。男主演喬納森·洛斯莫夫稱，這部劇並非強調男權女權的問題，更多的是影射出媒體對社會的影響力，這也是《芝加哥》緊跟時代關注熱點，長盛不衰的原因之一。
Before its maiden show in Guangzhou on December 6th, DirectorPhilip Godawa and the 3 actors who play the roles of the show’s protagonists, including Carmen Pretorius, SamanthaPeo andJonathan Roxmouth, attended a media briefing to answerquestions from the press and fans. Jonathan Roxmouth emphasized that this musical is not simply about the rights of men and women, but rather highlights the extraordinary influence that the press possesses over society. This is also one of the reasons why Chicago has enjoyed everlasting popularity on stage around the world.
